3:25 pm – The hold and secure has been lifted by police at Wilson Avenue Public School.

Dear Wilson Avenue Public School Families,

I want to make you aware of a situation that affected our school today. At about 3 p.m., police directed our school into hold and secure, as a precautionary measure, while they conducted an investigation in the community. As part of our hold and secure protocol, students and staff who were outdoors at the time were brought inside and all doors were locked so no one could enter or exit the building. Staff and students were safe inside the school at all times.

Our school remained secured until about 3:25 p.m. when we were assured by police that it was safe to return to our regular school routines.

We will always take whatever precaution is necessary to ensure the safety of our students and staff. As always, please call me at the school at 519-893-7050 if you have questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Martz, Principal
